Intro: We see many things in the Old Testament that are valuable today. But because of Jesus, and reading the rest of the Bible, we can learn and appreciate even more!
Read I Kings 3:11-12, Ecclesiastes 3:17-21, Job 9:32-33, I Timothy 2:5, Psalms 51:5, Psalms 58:3, John 9:2,3,34, Ecclesiastes 7:29, Romans 7:9, I Corinthians 15:39
Questions:
1. What did God give to Solomon? (I Kings 3:12)
2. Even with all of his wisdom, what did Solomon not know? (Ecclesiastes 3:21)
3. With all his suffering, what did Job want? (Job 9:33)
4. Some people still believe what David said in both Psalms 51:5; Psalms 58:3. What are
those beliefs?
5. Who else seemed to share this belief? (John 9:2,34)
6. What was Jesus’ answer to this belief? (John 9:3)
7. Yet, David’s son, Solomon, came up with a different idea, which supports what Jesus said.
What was that? (Ecclesiastes 7:29)
8. Apostle Paul taught something slightly different. What was that? (Romans 7:9)

Discussion:
1. Some people believe the Bible is inerrant. What does this mean?
2. David had zeal/passion. Solomon had wisdom. How do we know that some of the things
they said are not applicable today?
3. How did Jesus answer Satan’s use of scripture, which was not applicable to the moment?
4. Is there any wisdom to be gained from Solomon’s repeated line in Ecclesiastes, “…all is vanity?”
